For some, it may not be rocket science to follow a healthy diet, but others are looking for a diet for idiots. This is not to imply that these individuals are stupid. There is simply too much conflicting information available now about “good” and “bad” foods and calories, and this leads to frustration and failure for many intelligent people who need help to lose weight.
Dieting for idiots is also called the Idiot Proof Diet. It is a lifestyle change and corrective eating plan for people who do not want to count calories or carbs or buy strange foods and gadgets. The idea behind this method is to change certain behaviors and modify small elements of the diet rather than use any kind of complicated logging or tabulation.
A diet for idiots is easier to maintain, as well. Other diets and plans can be unsustainable because they require the individual to give up categories of foods that are essential for good health. Some are so restrictive that the dieter is triggered to binge at some point. There are many methods to lose weight, but if they are not sustainable for years to come, they are worthless.
This is not to say that diets for idiots are effortless, however. There are restrictions in this method, but they are not as hard to follow for most people. Sweets and condiments should be eliminated or restricted in the plan. This can be difficult if done “cold turkey”, so one may need to gradually reduce these items. One can start out by cutting the amount of sauce or spread in half. The sweet goods can be addictive, so replacing a donut with a piece of fruit may help. After a few days or a week, the sugar craving will subside and disappear. If a person can eliminate the sugar in the first two weeks, it will significantly boost the results of this diet.
Foods prepared at restaurants are off limits as well. One cannot control the ingredients or the portion sizes when food is prepared by others. Following the diet for idiots requires that meals be prepared at home. It also suggests reducing portions and breaking three meals into four or more. Like many other plans, it also encourages plenty of water and regular exercise.
Dieting for idiots, when followed properly, actually reduces the amount of calories a person ingests. It simply is not as obvious as calorie counting and is much easier to do. This method gently pushes people towards healthy living, which is what they desired in the first place.
