Upper back is probably the strongest area of the spine. It mainly supports the upper body and protects organs along the chest area including the lungs and the heart. Better yet, ask a friend or relative to massage you using his or her elbow. It is advised to allot one minute of each hour to massage the aching area. This should aid in muscle spasm relief and improve blood circulation. Sports bra can also help women. Bigger breasts add greater pressure in the back. Sports bra provide support to the weight of the breasts. If any of these won’t work, then it is time to resort to pharmaceutical intervention. With your doctor’s prescription, take drugs that act on pain and inflammation. These drugs include non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), acetaminophen, muscle relaxants, and opioid. While it is true that these can address your back problems, it is always best to consult your doctor first before trying any of these methods. Your doctor knows what best works for you.

Upper back pain can be prevented. The best way to save your back from any discomfort is to maintain good posture. The S-curve of your spine is naturally designed to support your weight. Hence, use it and do not slouch! Moreover, keep your body in stomach-in and chest-out position. Whether you are standing or sitting, try your best to keep this proper position. Try this simple and correct posture and you will see how well it works.
