Common Childhood Asthma Symptoms
There is no definite answer as to why there are a lot more children developing asthma. A shortness of breath usually occurs because the childs respiratory system constricted due to inflammation in the air ways. This may also lead to frequent coughing, chest congestion, and hence chest pain as well. If the child usually complaints of these symptoms, he or she needs to get medical attention right away. The symptoms discussed also play a role in causing the child to have difficulty in getting sleep. Hence, he or she often experiences fatigue. With the shortness of breath that the child experiences due to asthma, he or she will have trouble keeping up with other children during playtime.
A visit to the doctor will confirm if the child does have asthma or something else. Although the childhood asthma symptoms may be apparent, they may be caused by other illnesses as well. The only way to make sure is to have the doctor examine the child. Oral medication does provide treatment, but the most effective way of opening the lungs is through direct treatment using child asthma inhalers.
