Vanity is defined as the excessive belief in a person’s attractiveness to other people. Usually, it is the women who are stereotyped with this trait but judging from the way men have become too conscious about their personal appearance, vanity nowadays may go to both parties.

One of the many problems that men have is the appearance of the double chin. This mostly affects males who are overweight but sad to say, some men may have this trait even if they are not fat. Many experts believe that this second chin is a result of the loss of skin elasticity during the process of aging. For the people who are fat to begin with, they can get rid of the double chin once they lose some weight but for those who have this feature even though they are not fat, no amount of exercise will remove the fat accumulation. If no other method is used to remove the double chin, liposuction will definitely be the sure fix.

Undergoing liposuction takes a lot out of the average male. A lot of males believe that if they undergo liposuction, they lose a part of their virility and strength as a man. While some others believe that they are “too manly” to undergo liposuction, many others do not mind about such a stereotype. As long as they have the money, they can always submit themselves to the procedure at any given time. The liposuction procedure done on the chin is very risky. For one thing, there might be a possibility that the tissues surrounding the neck and chin may be included in the removal. Not only this, but the stick being used to suction the fat may also puncture several areas like the neck muscles, the skin, or even the tongue. Because of the several risks that this procedure has, men have the choice to approach the procedure in a different manner such as the use of ultrasonic waves or high power laser. If the liposuction procedure is successful and the patient has no complications, he may be able to go home or work in a few weeks.

Sometimes, suctioning the fat out of the neck is not the only procedure to be done in order to fix the double chin. The facelift procedure may be done in order to tighten up the loose skin that is left on the chin area. Although this may take a lot of time and money, a lot of men would still want to undergo this procedure so that the second chin will be completely removed. After a few days of operation and a few weeks of rehabilitation, the patient will have an even and tighter skin.

Undergoing chin liposuction is not a bad thing for males to have. Some men may only see this procedure as unnecessary since the chin is a small area to be noticed by people, while some others think that the chin is the only thing that is keeping them from looking good. Whatever the reason may be, men have every right to do whatever they want with their bodies and if women are doing it then why can’t they?
