Inversion tables provide pain relief for people who experience spinal decompression. This method of natural back pain relief helps individuals who suffer from back pain and uncomfortable herniated discs. These tables work by relieving pressure in the back and using gravity to encourage slipped discs to move back into their proper place. Medical professionals who use inversion tables in their practices call this form of treatment “inversion therapy.” This therapy has a lot of success because it decompresses joints and reduces spinal pressure which gives relief for those patients who experience back pain and discomfort.

How inversion tables are used

You must face away from the table with your back lightly resting against the table. The ankle straps must then be tightened securely around your feet. If the these straps are not put on correctly, you may injure yourself. Next, you must slowly lean back and apply pressure on the table. Most tables are adjustable so you should begin with the easiest setting. As you become more comfortable with the inversion table, you may adjust the settings. When leaning on the table, begin slowly rocking your body back and forth by using your feet and thighs to balance your body. This rocking movement helps to apply compression and traction to your back. It is recommended that you use the table when you wake up and prior to bedtime for about ten minutes each time. Eventually, you can increase your time until you are doing thirty minutes twice a day.

Benefits

Inversion therapy helps relieve back pain naturally which reduces the need for harsh medications or surgeries. Gravity helps provide a total release from back pain by removing the pressure on your spine. Using an inversion table on a regular basis helps to align the spine, improve posture, and increase blood circulation.
