Knee Brace Reviews – A Guide to The Top 3 Knee Braces
Knee braces are often recommended by your doctor if you have sustained an injury. If you have a major injury it is important that your condition is diagnosed first to determine which type of brace appropriate. Common causes of knee injuries include sports injuries and unexpected accidents such as a slip or a fall. A brace is very helpful for aiding recovery from the injury and also for preventing further damage. Runners and other sports athletes will often wear braces while running to support their knee. There are a vast variety of knee braces available on the market. This article will review the top three knee braces and give you an idea of the advantages and disadvantages of each one.
The Mueller Wraparound Knee Brace retails at around $25 and is available in three sizes - large, extra large and regular. The Mueller wraparound has a number of key design features. For example, it comes with adjustable straps above and below the knee to add more support and provide a tighter fit and more comfort of the wearer. The wraparound design is intended to facilitate easy attachment and removal along with giving your knee freedom of motion so it does not feel too restricted.
The Mueller knee brace also features adjustable crossing straps to help keep it in place while worn. To prevent discomfort from bunching behind the knee, the brace is open at the back. Additionally, it features extra front padding and rugged extra stitching to make it more shock absorbent and durable.
The second knee brace is the McDavid Ligament Knee Support. It’s slightly more expensive than the Mueller Wraparound at around $35 and comes in five different sizes including small, medium, large, extra large and xx- large. There are three main features of the product which are therapeutic heat retention, double sided nylon and velcro straps.
The therapeutic heat retention and compression is provided by its 3/16” thermal neoprene. Heat improves blood circulation which can reduce inflammation and prevent muscles from locking up and becoming stiff while also aiding the recovery process.
The two- sided nylon construction makes this knee brace very durable and for additional ligament support, it is equipped with two Velcro straps and four elastic crossing straps. High level support is provided with its steel stays and extra long sleeve for a good fit.
The third knee brace in our list is the Mueller Hg80 Hinged Knee Brace. This is the second mueller product in our top 3 and also the most expensive at around$40. It is available in four different sizes – small, medium, large and extra large.
The two main features of the product are that it provides near- normal knee motion with it’s hinged design so you still retain freedom of movement while providing maximum protection. It’s constructed out of high quality non-neoprene breathable and antimicrobial fabric which prevents rashes and uncomfortable moisture retention from sweating.
In order to get the most out of a knee brace it is important that it is fitted properly. When in doubt you should have it checked by the doctor so that they will test if it is sized and placed properly. Fortunately, the knee braces mentioned above are all high quality and have several adjustable features to allow you to get a great fit.Knee Brace Reviews – A Guide to The Top 3 Knee Braces,
