Losing Weight with a Protein Diet
People react differently when talking about weight. Some people do not want to mention topics concerning their weight while some others are okay with what they have. Gaining weight has always been a problem with a lot of people and its mainly because people can not control what they eat and they end up being fat.
Food control is hard to do because of the fact that it is a mental game. If you have a lot of problems with your work and at home then controlling your intake might not be for you. If reduction of intake may not work for you mentally, then substitution of intake will be better. Substitution of intake would mean changing your total diet with foods that the body really needs. In order to understand this, you must have the basic understanding of the three basic food groups which are simply called as the go, grow, and glow foods. The foods under the go category would include carbohydrates which are responsible for giving you energy. The grow foods are the proteins that build muscle and aid in wound healing. Lastly the glow foods are the fruits and vegetables that make your skin look good, aids in digestion, and takes good care of your eyes and other senses. With this understanding you can replace sweets, fatty foods, and other unhealthy junk foods with the ones that are on the three basic food groups. Diets do not only work by themselves that is why exercise will burn the calories.
Losing weight with a protein diet is effective only with adequate exercise and rest. You can workout at least three times a week for 30 minutes to an hour and after that you can eat as much protein as you can in order to build muscle mass instead of fat. You can eat protein rich foods such as oatmeal, peanut butter, tuna fish, chicken breast without the skin, lean meat, tofu, and many more. This protein diet will work better if you eat within 30 to 45 minutes after workout since this is the period where metabolism of your body makes full use of the protein because the body needs it quickly. It is very important to take in protein after a workout and not before so it would be better if you took protein shakes directly after workout then eat a full meal when you get home.
Having a protein diet does not mean neglecting carbohydrates, fruits, and vegetables because these foods even out or balance the digestion. If you ate purely protein then the body will not be able to digest them properly making them unused for tissue regeneration and muscle growth. Do not worry when you seem to be maintaining weight after a few weeks of exercise because the fat that you have has been replaced by muscle which is heavier. People may confuse you on how to lose weight but the right formula would always be diet with a lot of exercise.
