With the fast food diet many of the world’s population have succumbed to, it isn’t surprising to find that more and more people are diagnosed with pathologic haemorrhoids or piles, in layman’s terms.  In fact, the increasing number of people suffering from piles has led to a few natural haemorrhoids treatment that was proven to be curative, if not preventive.

Haemorrhoids are normal structures in the anal canal that facilitate stool control. Typically, haemorrhoids can be likened to cushions that consist of connective tissues and arteriovenous channels, which help in the excretion of feces. They begin to become a problem when they are inflamed or engorged.

There are two types of haemorrhoids, the internal and the external haemorrhoids. Signs and sympotoms associated with haemorrhoids usually depend on the type of piles the person is suffering. External haemorrhoids are frequently seen with pain in the anus while internal haemorrhoids normally suffer from painless bleeding in the rectum. There are a number of causes that doctors pinpoint in causing haemorrhoids. The most common causes include that of constipation, low-fiber diet, sedentary lifestyle, pregnancy, genetics, aging and prolonged straining. Other aspects that could cause piles include obesity and sitting for an extended period of time.

Fortunately, the available natural haemorrhoids treatment is effective in managing piles. The treatment commonly used is a high-fiber diet. Fiber, which cannot be digested by the intestine, goes in and out of the gastrointestinal system, helping clean the colon from toxins and waste materials. Fiber help prevent haemorrhoids by softening and increasing the bulk of the feces. The recommended daily intake of fiber is 20 to 30 grams but an average adult’s fiber intake is just around 10 grams. Hence, increasing your fiber intake is important.

All plant foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, seeds and beans, are rich in fiber. There are two types of fiber, the soluble fiber and the insoluble fiber. The soluble fiber can decrease the overall cholesterol count especially the bad cholesterol (LDL). The insoluble fiber, on the other hand, works by cleansing the colon and balancing the stomach’s acidity. A good source of fiber is the psyllium fiber and flaxseeds which are readily available.

In many households, the herb horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) is also used to treat piles. It advised in the presence of poor circulation in the veins or venous insufficiency that has been present for an extended period of time. It alleviates inflammation and reinforces the walls of the blood vessels. Experts in herbal medicine believe that the active compound is aescin. It can be taken internally through tea or a capsule. It can also be used as a compress.

Another plant compound that is used for haemorrhoids is the bioflavanoids or also known as the Vitamin P. Like the horse chestnut they strengthen the walls of the blood vessels and decrease inflammation, anal discomfort and pain. There are bioflavanoids found in citrus fruits, tea, wines and dark chocolates.

These natural haemorrhoids treatment are known to be effective. As long as you take them as directed, you will be relieved from anal discomfort.
