Everybody hates fats! Nobody likes to have excess fats hanging onto our bodies. Fats would be okay in some areas of the body where they are needed but if they accumulate in places where they may look bad, it will need to be eliminated at all costs. The most annoying place where fat will deposit is in the neck area. Having a double chin is not a beautiful feature to see in people. The bad thing about this is that no matter how much a person goes on a diet or no matter how much a person exercises, the fat deposits on the chin will still be present. In order to remove these unwanted fats off of the chin, liposuction may be considered as the last resort.

Liposuction can be done anywhere in the body where there is an abundance of fat. The cost of liposuction may be expensive which is why people only consider suctioning the areas where fat is most abundant. Liposuction can be done on the neck but the only problem with this procedure is that the area between the bone and the skin is so small that it may risk the puncturing or bruising of this area. Liposuction of the neck entails a lot of intricate movements and complicated equipment. In the first place, this procedure would require an incision to be made on the neck for the canula to placed. Next, the surgeon will try to mechanically remove the fat through scraping the fat off of the area. The push-pull motion of the area may sometimes cause trauma to the areas that do not need to be touch. It is very important to remember that fat accumulation on the neck may sometimes be too small and if the surgeon accidentally hits anything that is not fat, it would immediately cause bruising. Other methods of liposuction may be used such as laser or ultrasound waves. These methods would cause the fat to be broken down. This will only need minimal movement of the physician and that the fats will be removed directly through suctioning. Despite the limited movements on this method, it may also pose a risk to its surrounding tissues which is why the intensity that the machines would place on the fat should be controlled.

It is very common in every postoperative client to wear compression garments after liposuction. These garments are important to reduce bleeding on the site of injury or reduce swelling. These garments may be placed in liposuction areas but unfortunately, these garments cannot be used on the neck. This may also contribute to the reason why some people manifest bruising no matter how careful the procedure was done. To remedy this problem, some physician would go for facial-plasty compression dressing for over a week. These dressings have compression effects but not too much that it will cause airway restrictions. It is important for every patient to follow the post-operative instructions so that bruising and other complications will be eliminated.
