The choice you should make as to what solution to opt for depends on the characteristics of your condition. For instance, there are two major forms of apnea: obstructive and central. These two forms are both serious and disturbing. Hence, there is a shade of difference between the two as far as treatments are concerned. Obstructive apnea cause by obstruction in the airways and thus its treatments must be aimed at removing such obstructions. Treatments like these include surgery, Continuous Positive Air Pressure (CPAP), jaw adjustment devices and others. Lifestyle modification can be very helpful for this type of apnea. The second form of apnea is called the central sleep apnea. This is different from the fist type in terms of its cause. The cause of this type is erroneous brain signals. Thus, it is the brain that affects the breathing and not the lungs. Medications for central apnea include Hydroxizene and Trazodone.

As mentioned above, lifestyle modification can be very helpful in treating this sort of sleep disorder. To make your sleep better, you must sleep on your side instead of sleeping on your back. Your regular exercise can help a lot along with healthy foods. Not only does it help combat apnea but also other disorders such as depression, anxiety, hypertension and irregular heartbeat. When you are tired or exhausted, you will find it easier to fall asleep and sleep tight. You can achieve best results of medications with the aid of healthy exercises. It is important that you discuss with your doctor your workout plan. It must be based on what your body needs and is capable of.
Healthy and balanced diet is also of vital importance for a sufferer like you. It is a fact that sleep apnea can be caused by obesity. Therefore, performing healthy physical activities can help you get rid of being overweight and thus, you get rid of suffering from this sleep disorder at the same time. Sleep apnea is considered a major sleep- related disorder and chronic in nature. It has ruined and will continue to ruin anybody’s life and thus we must be aware of its existence and find solutions to this problem.
