Prostate problems may not be manifested by distinct symptoms in the initial stages. As the problem aggravates, symptoms of prostate problems become more and more apparent. However it is really important to understand the symptoms well because sometimes they may also be suggestive of prostate cancer which requires early detection for successful treatment. The early symptoms may be too few and far between. Therefore one must be informed enough to pin point these and understand their repercussions.

Prostate problems may be manifested in several forms. The most common one is the BPH or the Benign Prostate Hyperplasia which causes enlargement or swelling of the prostate glands. This could eventually lead to prostate cancer, in certain isolated cases. Prostate cancer could be life threatening especially in elderly patients. Another form is prostates which is a bacterial infection resulting in inflammation and irritation of prostate glands. A common set of symptoms are indicative of these various forms.

Amongst the symptoms of prostate problems the most common and predominant one is increased frequency of urination. An existing prostate problem will inevitably cause abnormally frequent urination. You might have to visit the toilet much more than you actually did. As the problem develops, the need to urinate frequently increases manifold especially during nocturnal hours and you could find it extremely difficult to have a restful sleep. While urinating you might also face difficulty in initiating the urine flow and could also feel a pain while urination. In certain cases blood stains are also visible in the urine of a person suffering from prostate problems.

Prostatis, which is a bacterial infection, can also cause a burning sensation while urinating. Although a burning sensation during urination could be suggestive of other problems like reduced water intake etc persistent symptoms most probably represent a prostate problem. Inability to regulate the flow of urination is another blatant symptom hinting the presence of prostate problems in a patient. You may have to exert abnormal pressure to start and stop the urine flow, when you have a prostate disorder.

The prostate glands are male sex organs and symptoms of prostate problems have considerable impact on the sex life of the patient as well. When you suffer from prostate enlargement or inflammation, erection during sexual intercourse can get extremely difficult and excruciatingly painful. It becomes more and more difficult to have and maintain an erection for long. The ejaculation process can also be severely painful, and in severe cases blood cells may also leak out in the semen. The process of sexual intercourse also causes a lot of pain in the prostate area, making it a thoroughly unpleasant experience.

Prostate problems can mark its presence through various other symptoms. Some of these include pain in the pelvic area, swelling in the limbs and a feeling or tiredness and fatigue prevalent primarily due to disturbed nocturnal rest. These apparent symptoms therefore, should be distinguished and verified at the earliest for smooth recovery. If detected too late, the repercussions of prostate cancer could be mighty serious.
