The Health Benefits of Eating Fish
You often hear it a lot from people that there are a lot of fish in the sea. Literally, this saying is true because majority of the earth is made of water and fish are its natural inhabitants. With the number of fish present in the ocean, Mother Nature would not mind at all if we humans would eat them for survival.
Fish has always been the food which humans eat. The good thing about them is that they are packed with a lot of vitamins and they are also good sources of protein. It even has more protein in them than ordinary lean meat. These foods also contain less cholesterol and fats which would keep people from the risks of having cardiovascular diseases. Fish food also has a lot of Omega 3 fatty acids which can improve the blood pressure, blood circulation, reduce triglycerides and many more.
Fish can be eaten in many ways. One of the best ways to prepare fish is to take out all the internal organs especially the intestines. Nobody should ever eat them because they contain a lot of bacteria which may be detrimental to our health. These intestines need to be thrown out quickly because if they stay in the trash for more than an hour, they will stink very badly. The scales on the fish need to be removed as well. For something that has stayed in salt water for most of the time, fish do not taste good without salt. Proper seasoning and the right amount of flavoring should be done on the fish to make it taste good. Fish may be eaten raw, steamed, or broiled but the safest way to eat fish is to have it fried. Steaming the fish will do a good job of locking in the flavor but it may not be enough to kill the bacteria over its skin. Broiling may give out a flavorful aroma but the dark overcooked parts of the fish may not be too healthy because these parts may be carcinogenic in nature. Eating them raw may taste good to some people but then we must remember that raw fish is a perfect medium for parasites to live in. Frying the fish on the other hand will ensure that it is well cooked, bacteria and parasites will be eradicated, and it does not contain any carcinogen.
No matter how we may prepare or cook fish, it still does not change the fact that fish food will taste great once ingested. The only bad side about fish food is that they spoil easily. These foods are those products which need to be consumed directly since they only have a minimum amount of time to stay fresh. It is sometimes hard to select fish because some vendors may cheat about keeping the fish fresh by adding some chemicals in them. Not only do these things spoil easily but they are pretty hard to catch too. The ones which are hard to catch may cost a lot of money.
If ever you have that craving for fish, just remember all of the benefits you will get from eating them and forget about the nasty things that people tell you. Eating fish foods will eventually lead you to a better health and a better life.
