The Health Benefits of Green Tea
Juice drinks taste a lot better when they are freshly squeezed from a natural fruit and they taste best when you eat them in fruit form. Today, the presence of food factories have changed the way fruit juices are made. We now have juices that are made from powder as well as milk, food supplements, and tea. Like the juice that we love from a freshly squeezed fruit, these powdered drinks could never beat the original and natural forms. Even though tea has been abusively made into powder, few people still prefer to drink it from the natural source, not the tea bags, the tea leaves.
There are several types of teas. These tea are the black tea, white tea, green tea, yellow tea, oolong tea, and the fermented tea. Perhaps the most famous among all the classifications of tea which are commercially sold is the green tea. Green tea is made solely from the tea leaves which are scientifically known as Camellia sinensis. They achieve their notable color of green because they undergo minimal oxidation during the process of making as opposed to the oolong tea which undergoes full oxidation.
Green tea has been dated back 4,000 years in the Chinese history and it was believe to ward off diseases and improve one’s well being. They were also given to soldiers during their confinement in the hospital in order for their wounds to heal quickly because of its bacteria fighting components in which today, scientists have not known specifically what they are. Green tea has a lot of chemicals in it that makes it very beneficial to the body. It’s primary chemical, the catechin polyphenol, is an antioxidant which prevents the oxidation of molecules in the body thereby inhibiting the release of free radicals. The decrease of free radicals in the body contributes greatly to the prevention of several types of cancers as well as the prevention of the formation of different types of benign tumors. Not only does the prevention of free radicals decrease the risk of cancer but it can also decrease the occurrence of generative diseases such as Rheumatism, arthritis, and Alzheimer’s disease. As believed by the traditional Chinese, tea can also cure several ailments such as headaches, several body pains, and constipation.
Tea has also been determined by several research conducted that it can reduce the amounts of cholesterol in the blood by excreting them from the body leaving only the good cholesterol. Having low cholesterol levels will prevent the person from ever acquiring cardiovascular diseases such as stokes, hypertension, cardiomegaly, coronary heart disease, and many more. With the countless benefits that tea can bring to human beings, I don’t think anyone should ever go for the powdered ones. Another thing about powdered juices is that a certain amount of the concentrate may not be dissolved naturally and can accumulate in the kidneys leading to renal complications. Why would anyone go for all that hassle of drinking powdered tea when the natural one can be made easily? Have your daily dose of the natural goodness of green tea and you will experience life a whole lot better.
